Never
Unprepared
Never Unprepared, the Twenty-Sixth
Will live again those
glorious days,
When with bayonet firmly
fixed,
They stormed Gallipoli’s
rugged heights,
Poziers, Bullecourt, Ypres,
all fell before their might.
Men passed on, their names
forgotten,
Others lived, with bodies
rotting,
Through it all were none
who cared,
Worrying just how they
fared.
THE TWENTY-SIXTH – ‘NEVER
UNPREPARED’.
This bloody war of Hitler’s
making
Has brought to life another
child,
Who, so slowly from his
sleep is waking,
His spirit stirring, eyes
open wide,
To stem this monster’s
lustful tide.
The Twenty-Sixth is born
again,
To free this world of grief
and pain,
Its sons will stand with
head unbared
O’er graves of father,
those who dared,
THE SECOND TWENTY-SIXTH –
‘NEVER UNPREPARED’.
